As the former Chair of ASCO’s Education Council, I am passionate about ensuring the next generation of oncologists have the educational support they need for the ever-changing oncology landscape. Like me, I know you believe that education is critical to the growth and advancement of oncology.
To that end, I invite you to join me in supporting ASCO’s new Education Scholars Program. Each of the 12 scholars chosen for this year-long program will become experienced in using the latest learning science to more effectively present ground-breaking cancer developments to the oncology community to advance cancer research and improve patient care.
Eric Roeland, MD, a recent graduate of the program shares, “I strongly believe that the way we currently learn in medicine is inherently flawed. We drink from a firehose of information and are expected to apply drops of this information. [Through ESP], I aim to learn about educational theory and strategize optimal new ways to learn and teach.”
By collectively raising $30,000 we can support a 2020 scholar. I’ve made a lead gift towards this effort and encourage you to partner with me in this important endeavor.
